Good Riddance

to Tom Gordon.

I honestly never got everyone’s fascination with him. Here was a guy that was never spectacular as a closer, had arm trouble, comes to Yanks as a set-up man, and all of a sudden, because he’s setting up Mariano Rivera, and pitching under considerably less pressure than in a closer’s role, is suddenly the second coming of Dennis Eckersley?

Not to mention the fact that he stunk the place up in September/October. He became so unreliable, it was scary to see him come into games. I, for one, am happy to see him go.

Good Luck to the Phillies doing anything with him around.
